Position Role Type:

Sensing & Control Systems consists of three product types:  Fuels & Sensing Systems (FSS), Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS), and Control & Actuation Systems (CAS).  You will work in one of these product types on a development program and may assist in resolving electronic issues in operations.

This position is for an Electrical Engineering Intern with a passion to learn about and gain experience in the Electronic Aircraft Systems industry. This position is onsite, in Vergennes, Vermont.

What You Will Do:

  • You will work on circuit card assembly design/development/analysis of: analog, digital and power circuits including microprocessors/microcontrollers/DSPs, FPGAs, sensor interfaces, motor controllers, linear and switching power supplies.
  • You will create documentation including hardware design plans, technical requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, qualification test plans and reports.
  • You will evaluate failures to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • You will support engineering hardware validation/verification and production acceptance testing.
  • You will work closely with a senior engineering mentor who will provide guidance to learn design processes and procedures then transition into a contributing member of an integrated product team responsible for executing a specific engineering project.

  • You will learn electrical engineering standard work processes for robust electronic aircraft system design.
  • You will learn how to use electronic design and simulation tools.
  • You will learn how to work with a multi-discipline team of engineers on a development project.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Previous Electrical Engineering intern experience.
  • Experience with tortoise subversion or similar revisioning software.
  • Completed Circuits Theory courses.
  • Basic understanding of Electronics and Electrical Design & Analysis.
  • Basic understanding of how to use Oscilloscopes and Multi meters.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
