Raytheon Field Engineering is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern to support and learn from the Trident Integrated Support Facility (ISF) located in Pittsfield, MA. This Intern will have the opportunity to support an Integrated Product Team and participate in the day-to-day engineering activities of a depot level repair facility. The Intern shall work to provide effective operation, maintenance, inspection, and technical support for the facility.  Additionally, the intern shall help troubleshoot any hardware and equipment anomalies with supervision.  Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

What You Will Do

  • Technical writing – test and maintenance procedures, failure analysis, training materials, engineering change requests, customer presentations, waivers and deviations
  • Training – must be able to absorb new technical material quickly 
  • Provide support in the Testing, Evaluation, Troubleshooting, and Disposition of flight hardware with a focus on electrical performance and fault analysis
  • Support for the development, build, or procurement of new automated test equipment
  • Support for hardware and software development tasks
  • Technical support for test personnel operating in a production environment
  • Verification of hardware acceptance test results as well as compliance to customer drawings, specifications, and procedures
  • Performance metrics and trend analysis
  • Root Cause investigation and Corrective Action development
  • Oral presentation to senior management and customer personnel

Qualifications You Must Have

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum entering their Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing level by the start of Summer 2025
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Familiarity with engineering processes that relate to manufacturing, design, and support
  • Familiarity with data analysis including making plots and graphs in Microsoft Excel

  • Hands-on maintenance and test experience
  • Ability to interface with persons of multiple disciplines and job functions, including software engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, program managers, production personnel, and outside vendors.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and conscientious
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
