Full time- 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday 4 days on site and 1 day working from home)

Role Overview:

As the Divisional Lead Nurse, you will be clinically and operationally responsible for the management and performance of Inpatient Surgical and Adult Outpatients services delivered at the Cromwell Hospital. You will be responsible for professional oversight and clinical supervision of clinical and nursing services provided at standalone outpatient centres.

As the Divisional Lead Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring that care pathways are joined up across the hospital and its associated outpatient centres. You will have an influential role and will be recognised as being critical to the delivery of Cromwell Hospital’s Strategy. Your role will consist of managing staff to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective services.

As a key member of the nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for advancing change in four main areas of impact – quality,  patient  experience,  finance  and  efficiency,  and leadership and skills development.

What you'll do:

  • Provide strong clinical leadership in all units acting as a role model for all nursing staff.
  • Ensure that standards of care are defined, delivered, and monitored in line with relevant regulatory and professional standards.
  • Ensure implementation and continued compliance with relevant staffing and competency frameworks including those prescribed relevant professional bodies.
  • In collaboration with the Clinical Director and other consultants design, implement and maintain a robust clinical governance system to assure patients of the highest standard of care acting within an assurance framework.JOB IS FROM: nursingjobs.siteVIEW
  • Accountable for ensuring that all safety alerts and national guidance is implemented and adhered to NPSA, NICE, NECPOD.
  • Act as a change agent and innovator, promoting an effective change culture within the nursing, medical and multi professional teams, with reference to current research and relevant NICE guidance.
  • To keep abreast of all new diagnostic developments scanning the healthcare horizon for emerging best practice and implement were applicable.
  • Provide clinical advice to nurses, doctors and clinical professions throughout the CH and referring practitioners on OPD, pathology and diagnostic facilities.
  • Participate in development and facilitation of new procedures, techniques and protocols for the CH actively supporting business development identifying opportunities when possible.
  • Carryout specialist audits to assess the clinical effectiveness of each of the units.
  • Participate in benchmarking with other private and NHS hospitals to ensure person centred practice.
  • Adhere to NMC guidelines for the safe handling, administration, storage, and custody of medicinal products.

  • Teaching and Mentoring qualification

  • To be familiar with national guidance and adhered to NPSA, NICE, NECPOD.
  • To have a full understanding of the decontamination and infection prevention policies, and ensure all staff follow policies.
