Job Description:

Under direct supervision, assists with selected routine and technical aspects of nursing care to patients of all ages. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Assists with maintaining a physical environment which promotes healing.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Spend Summer 2024 at Essentia Health-Fargo as a Student Nurse Intern in one of the following departments:

·         Cardiac - Telemetry

·         Critical Care Unit (CCU)

·         Float/Swat Team

·         Clinical Evaluation Unit (CEU)

·         Emergency Department (ED)

·         Medical/Surgical - Ortho

·         Medical/Surgical – Neuro

·         Procedural Units: OR/PACU/Cath Lab/IR/Endoscopy rotation

·         Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

·         Birthing Center

·         Home Health rotation

Internship Requirements:

·         Must be enrolled in accredited school of nursing or a nursing program approved by the state board of nursing in the state the internship will occur

·         Completion of junior year of a Bachelor’s in Nursing program and enrolled in a nursing co-operative type course. Also, accepting student in Associate of Nursing Programs, will also need to enroll a nursing co-operative type course.

·         Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month of hire

·         Must have completed course work related to the department where the internship hours will be worked

·         Must be able to commit to 32- 40 hours/week for 10 weeks (up to 400 hours for the entire summer) night, day, and weekend shifts

·         Students with full/part- time summer class loads will have adjusted hour requirements and must be able to commit to 32 hours every 2 weeks

·         Please also note, this is a temporary status position and is not eligible for benefits
