Internship Overview
The Summer Aviation Intern will have the opportunity to work within a Fortune 150 Aviation Services organization. The Aviation Intern will have direct exposure to corporate fixed wing and rotor wing operations, utility rotor wing operations, unmanned aerial operations, aircraft maintenance, aircraft scheduling and general aviation management.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
Learning and Development: Actively participate in training sessions and seek opportunities to learn about various aspects of aviation.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with different teams and departments to support overall operations.
Project Assistance: Provide support on special projects as needed, contributing to the continuous improvement of aviation operations.
Safety Adherence: Always adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. These responsibilities offer a comprehensive learning experience across different facets of the aviation industry.
Corporate Aviation:

Flight Operations Support: Assist in scheduling and coordinating corporate flights, ensuring timely communication with pilots and crew.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to VIP clients, ensuring their needs are met pre- and post-flight.
Administrative Tasks: Help with documentation, filing, and updating databases related to flight operations, Familiarization with Flight Operations Manual (FOM) and corporate operations.
Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and company policies.
Utility Aviation:
Mission Planning: Support the planning and execution of utility aviation missions such as aerial surveys and storm response.
Equipment Management: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of equipment used in utility operations.
Data Collection: Help gather and analyze data from utility missions to support operational improvements.
Safety Monitoring: Participate in safety briefings and assist in maintaining safety protocols during missions.
Unmanned Aviation (Drones):
Flight Planning: Assist in the planning and execution of drone missions, including mapping out flight paths and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Data Processing: Help process and analyze data collected from drone flights, such as aerial imagery and video footage.
Maintenance: Assist in the routine maintenance and troubleshooting of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
Regulatory Compliance: Support the documentation and compliance efforts related to drone operations, including obtaining necessary permits and licenses.
Maintenance:
Routine Inspections: Assist in conducting regular inspections of aircraft to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. Assist in Pre-flight and Post-Flight inspections of operational aircraft. Assist in updating the Navigational Data and engine downloads of multiple aircraft.
Repairs and Upgrades: Support the maintenance team in performing minor repairs and alterations on various types of aircraft.
Ground Servicing: Assist in fueling, aircraft cleaning, and aircraft towing during daily operations.
Documentation: Help observe accurate maintenance logs and records, ensuring all work is properly documented.
Tool and Inventory Management: Assist in managing tools and inventory, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and in good working order.
Basic Qualifications
High School Graduate
Currently enrolled and pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree in an aviation related discipline
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
Must not graduate prior to August 2025
Desired Qualifications
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Ability to multi-task and work across various internal and external customers to achieve goals
Strong computer reporting skills
Self-motivated
Detail oriented
Flexible
Strong written and oral communication skills
FAA License/Certificate (Dispatch, A&P, Pilot, Remote Pilot)
Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, airspace, weather, and aircraft performance
Working Conditions
Onsite – Work will be performed at a company facility.
Internship Summer Session Length is 10-12 weeks
Valid Driver’s License required
Must have the ability to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
