Job Summary
Responsibilities
Identifies quality improvement opportunities and participates in quality improvement initiatives in assigned roles as delegated by the Clinical Operations Manager and in coordination with the director of QM.
Evaluates all data from the chart audits and develops a plan of action for Continuous Quality Improvement.
Utilizes results from performance improvement activities to identify and prioritize areas of focus for improvement. Evaluates and provides input on the effectiveness of performance improvement programs.
Utilizes systematic data collection, aggregation, analysis, and reporting techniques to achieve concurrent compliance review of identified quality/patient safety metrics.
Routinely performs audits and observations of clinical practices to assess compliance with established standards and develops methodology to effectively report the findings to the leadership team to achieve and maintain the designated compliance/regulatory standards.
Acts as a liaison with the various departments and clinical programs at UCM to achieve positive quality outcomes.
Collaborates with management and subject matter experts at Student Wellness and UCM to understand desired performance, assess learning needs, and develop appropriate training solutions.

Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical transformation initiatives for SW.
Maintain QI standards in accordance with AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) and regulatory agencies. Participates in regulatory accreditation surveys.
Collaborates with regulatory agencies to ensure that infection control practices are Implemented and enforced according to guidelines set forth by the CDC.
Will collaborate with the Infectious Disease and Risk Management as appropriate to implement and enforce practices designated by the Governing Body.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality Improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
Supervises and provides direction to the Nurse Navigators, Supporting the daily work of the RN staff and provides supervision, guidance, and oversight as needed.
Partners with the Supervisor of Clinical Operations in support of daily oversight of patient care operations, functioning as the resource when needed.
Supervises and provides direction to the LPN (Licensed Practical Nurses) and MA staff in the absence of the Supervisor of Clinical Operations.
Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors, ensuring standards and quality of care is maintained and aligned with SWC policies. Implements evaluation programs regarding the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice or organizational systems.
Guides clinical practices for patient care or research projects, such as by reviewing patient records, monitoring compliance, and meeting with regulatory authority.
Implements evaluation programs regarding the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice or organizational systems.
Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
BSN degree in health science administration, health information management, or nursing.
Bachelor of Science in nursing degree.
Certification:
Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Experience:
Possesses knowledge of accreditation and regulatory agency requirements for performance improvement and patient safety.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an ambulatory care setting.
Possesses ability to function with a high level of discretion.
Must be familiar with health care management software and database systems.
Possesses advanced knowledge of RN, LPN, and MA clinical practice duties.
Possesses high degree of initiative and problem-solving ability. Demonstrates the ability to function both autonomously and collaboratively.
Possesses advanced knowledge of RN, LPN, and MA clinical practice duties.
Experience working in an ambulatory care setting.
Experience working in a behavioral health setting.
Higher education experience is a plus.
Advanced training or experience with college age or young adult populations.
Experience in Care Management.
Has prior knowledge in problem-solving situations within a complicated work environment due to the complexity of situations encountered.
