The primary responsibilities of the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) include assisting the providers and the office with care for the people we support, including clerical, clinical and organizational tasks all while conveying a positive image of the organization.

What You'll Do:

•    Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
•    Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit (this includes demographics, insurance coverage, referral/prior authorizations, etc.)
•    Organizes the flow of individuals for appointments and accompany individuals to and from the treatment areas and notifies necessary staff of individuals arrival.
•    Prepares patients for appointment by taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and conduct medication reconciliation.
•    Saves doctors’ time by helping with office procedures.
•    Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
•    Schedules appointments; verifying times with patients; and preparing charts.
•    Respond to verbal and electronic requests for information and assistance using proper policies, reference tools and provider instructions.
•    Process prescription refills, and direct/instruct people we support and/or family members regarding prescription and treatment instructions according to the provider guidelines and orders.
•    Perform Medication injections to people we support as ordered in the electronic record by the medical provider and follow specific nursing protocols for each specific injection.
•    Perform urine drug screen testing for people we support when ordered in the electronic health record as ordered by the medical provider and follow specific nursing protocols for completion of each urine drug screen.
•    Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
•    Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
•    Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
•    Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
•    Maintain trainings as required and requested.
•    Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assist in crisis situations.
•    Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures.
•    Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
•    Driving and travel may be required.

Education We're Looking For:

High School Diploma (Required)

Certifications We're Looking For:

CMA - American Association of Medical Assistants, North Carolina Driver License (Valid) - NC Division of Motor Vehicles, RMA - American Medical Techonologist

Experience We're Looking For:

Medical Office Setting Experience

Schedule:

Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)
