The Clinical Quality Improvement Nurse will support quality improvement initiatives through clinical expertise and analytical skills using rigorous quality improvement processes.

Position Details:


This role will work Monday-Friday during regular business hours at Good Samaritan Hospital.


Essential Functions

  • Lead and participate in quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient care and safety.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret clinical data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based policies and procedures to improve clinical practices.

  • Provide training and support to clinical staff on quality improvement methodologies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards, including those set by accrediting bodies and healthcare organizations.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement effective quality improvement strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality improvement activities, outcomes, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Advocate for patient safety and quality care by identifying and addressing barriers to high-quality care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.  Education must be obtained from an accredited institution.  Education will be verified.
  • Current RN license.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, medical acronyms, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology and ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG, and APR-DRG classification systems.
  • Demonstrated clinical nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with the application of and success with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or PDSA/IHI Model for Improvement. 
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare performance improvement.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare data collection background.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Experience with Quality Improvement with focus on Sepsis and ERAS.

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
  • May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs when the leader takes clinical shifts.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing, and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$38.02 - $67.53
