Full Time

6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, plus CVT call rotation

Requirements and responsibilities include:

Circulate CVT cases and perform the duties of a surgical circulator

Conscious sedation of patients, directed by the surgeon.

Coordinate vascular cases

Coordinate vendor representatives when needed for cases

Responsible for training nurses to perform conscious sedation for Hybrid cases

Communicate with clinical supervisor, clinical manager and physicians

Maintain and order supplies

Job Summary: The RN Outpatient (OP) Coordinator is responsible for the organization and coordination of nursing care for outpatient infusion services, pain management procedures, endoscopy procedures and cardiology. The OP Coordinator assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures.

Minimum Education: Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.

Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related Cardiovascular Thoracic experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio- psychosocial model, and the nursing process. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Coordinates human and material resources for outpatient cardiology, pain management, endoscopy and infusion areas while assuring compliance with regulatory agencies and government standards. Acts as a resource, educator, and mentor for others assisting in these departments. Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors. Ensures policies and procedures are developed and revised to reflect current standards and best practice. Works directly with patients, families and visitors cooperatively to ensure patient satisfaction. Collaborates with physicians and other disciplines as appropriate for improved patient outcomes. Supports unit/hospital goals through quality improvement and educational activities as evidenced by attending in services, educating others, meeting unit education standards, and completing incident reports as necessary. Ensures charges are entered and has fiscal accountability to these departments. Keeps supervisor apprised of department activities, issues, strategies and outcomes.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.

Working Relationship: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Has input on performance evaluations but does not prepare or give. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at supervisor level or above.
