Maintains an awareness of changes in Cardiovascular Services nursing practice and of the influence of public policy on nursing and patient care for areas of responsibility. Plans/implements change accordingly.
Develops and maintains communication systems, which facilitate high quality patient care, effective staff development, and positive medical staff relationships, using hospital resources prudently.
Provides for orientation, in-service, and continuing education of staff.
Establishes and maintains appropriate standards for the Cardiovascular Services program and ensures that standards are consistently followed.
Provides clinical leadership for Cardiovascular Services through the development of long-range plans defining goals and objectives.
Responsible for formulating a budget based on department philosophy, goals and objectives. Operates areas of responsibility within approved budget guidelines.
Maintains knowledge of day-to-day operations within each area of responsibility.
Establishes productive working relationships with medical staff, district departments, and community members.
Works with Medical Staff and others as appropriate to develop, enhance, and market patient care programs. Implements at least one new successful patient care service/program or improvement of an existing program through effective planning and awareness of community need. Plan reflects consideration and involvement of Medical Staff and other appropriate groups potentially affected by the change.
Integrates the department/services with Kaweah's primary functions.
Develops and implements policies and procedures consistent with the Kaweah's Mission that guide and support the Provision of Services Plan.
Determines the qualifications and competence level for department staff. Makes recommendations regarding required staffing levels.
Continuously assesses and improves department performance.
Recommends requirements for space and other resources. Participates in selecting outside sources for needed services.
Enhances professional growth and maintains awareness of current industry trends, legislation or research, which could impact the department and Kaweah.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs. Able to effectively communicate and care for patient and family as reflected in the Plan for Provision of Care.
Pay Range
