2025 Summer Intern - Reagent Research and Design

Department Summary

The Nucleic Acids and Reagent Technologies chapter, within Reagent Research and Design, leverages expertise in chemistry and molecular biology to create technical innovations to support and expand Roche’s molecular diagnostics solutions for patient testing.JOB IS FROM: nursingjobs.siteVIEW

This internship position is located in Pleasanton, on-site.  

The Opportunity

  • Work collaboratively within a small team to investigate and optimize nucleic acid amplification and/or detection methods

  • Perform wet lab studies contributing to chemistry and/or workflow improvements for a prototype amplification model

  • Analyze data, record and summarize results, deliver verbal presentations as needed to project teams and other stakeholders

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required) 

Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

Required Majors: 

  • Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or associated sub-disciplines.

Required skills:

  • Bench/Lab experience.

  • Experience in formulating reactions/reagents.

  • Familiar with nucleic acid amplification technologies (e.g. PCR).

  • Proficient in Google Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to learn and collaborate, curious, accountable, proactive, adaptable, organized, detail oriented, demonstrates critical thinking.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of  California is $25-$33 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
