Assists in the development and implementation of patient safety programs. Investigates patient safety issues or occurrences and conducts Root Cause Analysis. Recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent errors or improve outcomes. Contributes to a Culture of Safety at Roswell Park.Provides education and training to staff on safety science, occurrence reporting, and quality initiatives as needed.
Develops knowledge of national initiatives (required and voluntary); advises and participates in the development of national measures of oncology practice and outcomes; compares Roswell Park performance to national best practices; forms and manages interdisciplinary teams focused on improving clinical
processes and outcomes and reducing complications of care; collects, validates and analyzes data relevant to all related topics including failures of patient safety processes; advises on appropriate policies and processes that promote patient safety, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes; develops and teaches tools that will be useful to those working independently on projects; provides data to external regulatory groups relevant to certification and accreditations; works within the context of Center goals; facilitates, measures and reports sequential improvements leading to fully realized strategic improvements; seeks relevant and appropriate sources of comparison and works to continuously build and refine these sources; consults on and develops
clinical and strategic reports for faculty, staff and administration, the Board of Directors, payors, external advisory, accrediting and regulatory groups; maintains current knowledge of and relationship with The Joint Commission, ACOS, ASCO, CMS, HANYS and other organizations as appropriate.
Develops knowledge of national initiatives (required and voluntary); advises and participates in the development of national measures of oncology practice and outcomes; compares RPCI performance to national best practices; forms and manages interdisciplinary matrixed teams focused on Improving clinical processes and outcomes and reducing complications of care; collects, validates and analyzes data relevant to all related topics including reasons for unplanned readmissions and other failures of patient safety processes; advises on appropriate policies and processes that promote patient safety, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes; develops and teaches tools that will be useful to those working independently on projects; provides data to external regulatory groups relevant to certification and accreditations; works within the context of Institute goals; facilitates, measures and reports sequential improvements leading to fully realized strategic improvements; seeks relevant and appropriate sources of comparison and works to continuously build and refine these sources; consults on and develops clinical and strategic reports for faculty, staff and administration, the Board of Directors, payors, external advisory, accrediting and regulatory groups; maintains current knowledge of and relationship with The Joint Commission, ACOS, ASCO, CMS, New York State
Department of Health, HANYS and other organizations as appropriate; acquires and maintains highest levels of certifications (Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
Salary range is $90,931 - $114,940 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience1. Master’s degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Quality Analyst in an appropriate setting; or
2. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience as a Quality Analyst in an appropriate setting.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Registered Nurse in NYS
Certification in specialty nursing, quality or patient safety (i.e. CPPS, CPHQ, ONS, etc)
