Transition to Practice Program:
To link educational development with professional development through advanced competencies, evidence-based case review, peer debriefing, simulation, and skill review.
The goal of the program is to provide education and training necessary for successful transition into practice.
- Six Session (11 month) Transition to Practice Program
- 8 - 12 weeks of new graduate orientation with an appointed preceptor
Requirements:
- Candidates must be completing their final semester of an accredited ADN/BSN/MSN program within six months, or have graduated within the last six months of the start of the program.
- Candidate’s must have a valid Illinois RN license verified by the IDFPR website or their official NCLEX exam results stating they can start practicing license pending by time of the start of the program.
- The new graduate nurse may be hired for this position prior to completing license requirements, but will be unable to start working as a Registered Nurse until license requirements are obtained.
- Must possess a BLS CPR card through American Heart Association

, Most New Graduate RNs are primarily hired into Full-Time Night shift 7p-7a positions. Units: Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, Neurology, Oncology, Inpatient Surgical Post-Op*These departments are foundational floors to build and perfect your skills as a new grad nurse
