Day (United States of America)Invasive Cardiovascular Technologists are allied health professionals who performs diagnostic examinations at the request or direction of an Interventional Cardiologist during invasive cardiology, noninvasive cardiology, and/or peripheral vascular study procedures. Through subjective data collection and recording, the technologist obtains information from which a correct anatomical and physiological diagnosis may be established for each patient.Hourly Range: $31.28 - $51.61
• Actively involved in all phases of the peri-procedural process.
• Manipulates procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist.
• Responsible for supplies, and equipment necessary during the invasive cardiology procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the Interventional Cardiologist.
• Constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• Able to function independently for basic procedures and with minimal supervision of a senior technologist in the scrub role during advanced and highly complex procedures, and function as a circulator under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• Requires emergency on-call duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of an Associate Degree or graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Training Program or graduate from an accredited Allied Health Program.
• Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.
• At least 1 year in the cardiovascular specialty.
• Must obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Adult Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Demonstrates familiarity with and working knowledge of normal vs. abnormal cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation.
• Able to anticipate and prepare for the necessary treatment if adverse events occur intra procedure.
• Able to anticipate and prepare necessary equipment for emergency procedures.
