About the Role

As the Elective Surgical Liaison Nurse, you will co-ordinate, negotiate and manage the transition of care of patients throughout the continuum. You will be primarily responsible for managing the Elective Surgery waiting list according to the waiting list policy, identify and triaging suitable patients for the rapid access hub across multiple surgical specialties, in addition to streamlining the elective admission process.

  

The Elective Surgery Liaison nurse will coordinate the procedure schedule with consideration for the patient's clinical urgency, patient suitability for the SVHM Rapid Access Hub and equitable draw down from the elective surgery waiting list.   

Classifications for this position will range from YU11 ($102,278.80 per annum) pro rata

  • Current AHPRA Registration

  • Experience in the relevant area of clinical practice  

  • Awareness of the Elective Surgery Policy and the Department of Health requirements. 

  • Possess advanced negotiation and interpersonal skills   

  • Demonstrate an ability to develop, plan, promote and market new care concepts   

  • Understanding of pre-admission, admission and discharge planning principles   

  • Possess sound analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills 

  • Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain

About St Vincent's Hospital on the Park
In partnership with the Victoria Government, SVHM is operating St Vincent's Hospital on the Park (SVHOP) to support the state-wide Rapid Access hub. The St Vincent's On the Park Rapid Access Hub houses 5 procedural rooms and a Post Anaesthetic Care Area and works in conjunction with the Day Procedure Centre. The hub will focus on day of surgery management concentrating on specialities including Plastics, Orthopaedics, General, Urology and ENT.
