Summary of Job Duties:
This posting will fill multiple positions:Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, the PRN Pharmacy Technician I will assist and support the pharmacist in the day-to-day dispensing operation of patient care. The dispensing operation includes gathering the appropriate medication, researching data in the EPIC computer system, compounding medications, maintaining appropriate and adequate stock in all pharmacy areas, and other duties related to dispensing medication to the patient. The PRN Pharmacy Technician I will prioritize work based on immediate needs and a rapidly changing workload. The PRN Pharmacy Technician will work as a team member to efficiently, and accurately perform day-to-day work along with any additional tasks or projects to help achieve departmental goals.
The PRN Pharmacy Technician I will assist as it relates to day-to-day dispensing functions, tasks, and job duties to provide timely and efficient patient service. They will assist with prioritizing day-to-day workflow and immediate needs.

High School diploma/GED
Pharmacy technician license through the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for AR licensure.

Responsibilities:
Enters and completes patient check out procedures in the point of sale system.
Works the fill queue within the dispensing software.
Answers phone call and provides pharmacy counter services.
Maintains adequate medication stock in all pharmacy areas and hospital floors. Loads medicine carts and fills crash cart trays.
Uses hospital wide EPIC health care software system to track medication dispensing to unit. Packages Unit Dose medications accurately.
Supports the pharmacist with the preparation and delivery of medications.
Processes and expedites deliveries to medical facility, ambulatory patients, or outpatient clinics.
Monitors the ready to fill queue to fill prescriptions promptly.
Locates, researches, compounds and dispenses appropriate medication prescribed by physician staff.
Removes expired drugs from assigned areas.
Stocks medication according to proper stocking procedures and keeps shelving neat and organized.
Performs inventory cycle counts; facilitates receiving and shipping processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
