Motorola Solutions creates innovative, mission-critical communication solutions and services that help public safety and commercial customers build safer cities and thriving communities around the world. Motorola Solutions’ innovation center at UIUC’s Research Park is looking for a motivated, pursuit-driven intern with a passion for marketing, social media, public relations, and communications for a Summer 2025 full-time internship. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have a passion for all aspects of communications.
Job Description
The primary project for the Summer 2025 Communications Intern will be to create professional quality recruiting videos for the Research Park-UIUC office. In addition to this, responsibilities include:
Serve as the official photographer for all events, taking high quality pictures suitable for all communications and social media platforms.
Propose, document and Implement a strategy for internal and external communications to portray the work that is being done here at Research Park, including communication blitzes in coordination with key recruiting events and staffing needs. Documentation should include a calendar of all planned communication events.
Communicate news and updates about the innovation center on the site director’s and communication intern’s personal LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and/or similar channels.
Plan external communications events with the global communications team and provide the global communications team suitable content for Motorola Solution’s LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram channels.
Maintain an active presence for Research Park on MSIs internal communications channel, Batchat.
Update MSI’s presence on the Research Park website.
This is a paid full-time summer internship position located at our Research Park facility on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. Note: candidates must be located on campus during the summer.
Required skills:
Minimum GPA of 2.7 or above.
Highly motivated individual who is energized and has a willingness to learn.
Proficient knowledge of all social media platforms and current trends.
Well-organized and ability to manage multiple assignments at once.
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of DSLR camera usage for both photography and video.
Experience using advanced editing platforms such as Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere Pro
Experience as social media coordinator for an organization or company.
Basic Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications or an allied fiel at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is required.
Must gradute on or after December 2025.
Must be a US Citizen, permanent resident or be an MS student with work authorization (F1 Visa on CPT accepted only for masters-level students).
