Scheduled Weekly Hours:
36Gundersen Boscobel is seeking a Registered Nurse or Exercise Physiologist to join our cardiopulmonary rehab team!
What you will do:
- Implement and supervise clinic-based physical exercise programs in our certified cardiac rehab and pulmonary rehab programs.
- Collaborate with the referring providers and multidisciplinary teams in providing optimal patient care through appropriate and timely methods of communication.
- Serve as a professional resource for Gundersen Boscobel and our community.
- Monday through Friday day shifts; no weekends or holidays are required for this clinical position.

What you will need:
Associate degree in Nursing -or- Bachelor in Exercise Physiology
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 6 months of hire
Current Infant-Adult BLS for Health Care Providers from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Desire to work in a collaborative environment for the best patient outcomes.
Successful completion of a clinical internship or advanced training in exercise physiology preferred.

Job Description:
The Exercise Physiologist focuses primarily on implementing and supervising the physical exercise programs for diseased and healthy populations.
Major Responsibilities:
- Effectively performs specified assessment preceding, during and after exercise, and initiates appropriate intervention to maintain safety of patient.
- Directs patients in the performance of prescribed exercise while at the facility and instructs patients in home exercise.
- Communicates the program philosophy and goals of the exercise program to patients and assists patients in establishing appropriate goals of rehabilitation.
- Implements appropriate teaching/counseling for patient and family members.
- Communicates effectively with team members to provide quality patient care.
- Evaluates effectiveness of various interventions and charts progress at appropriate intervals.
- Obtains appropriate physician referrals, patient information and assesses various referrals to Exercise Physiology.
- Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
- Personally interacts, engages with and cares for patients.
- Ensures patient safety.
- Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested.
- Works in the Cardiopulmonary Rehab department and is responsible for recording and monitoring patient vitals and physiological response to treatment.
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology or Cardiac Rehabilitation or Human Performance or a related field
DESIRED
Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Cardiac Rehabilitation or Human Performance or a related field
Work Experience:
REQUIRED
1 year successful completion of clinical internship.
DESIRED
1 year prior work experience in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation.
License and Certifications:
REQUIRED
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR certification; Heart Saver, Rescue and Military training network CPR; or the American Red Cross CPR certification (CPR) except Citizen and Animal classes
DESIRED
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (tracked in elearning) American College of Sports Medicine Certified (ACSM)within one year of hire.
