About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Enrolled Nurse! You will provide specialised withdrawal management nursing services for vulnerable clients seeking medical assistance for addiction and undergoing detox.

Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a Casual position, based in Townsville, QLD. Salary is in accordance with QLD Nurses EA Registered Nurse Level 1.

You will successfully

• Support and liaise with visiting medical officers
• Dispense and administer medication to manage withdrawal symptoms
• Perform activities such as admission, discharge, maintain case notes and other required documentation, and handover at change of shifts
• Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in delivery of high quality services

You will have

• Relevant qualifications in Nursing and current Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Minimum 2 years experience and demonstrated competence in nursing in the Alcohol and Other Drugs nursing environment, including working with people with mental health conditions.
• Willingness and ability to work overnight shifts
• Demonstrated effective communication skills with people displaying challenging behaviours
• Demonstrated skills in triage, medical assessment, decision making and providing appropriate nursing interventions to provide crisis support
• Demonstrated current knowledge of Guidelines related to withdrawal management
• Current Driver's Licence
• Blue Card (QLD WWCC)
