The Professional Practice Coordinator is accountable for leading and evaluating activities related to the elements of nursing professional practice of the ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program and building the professional practice environment. These activities include but are not limited to implementing, optimizing, and sustaining a professional practice environment through transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, and new knowledge, innovations, and improvements. These individual coordinates organizational strategies and infrastructure to support clinical quality, operational effectiveness and shared decision-making to maintain the ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses, or appropriate state board where services will be provided, as a registered professional nurse OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three (3) years of nursing experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master’s Degree in Nursing or Related field is preferred.
2. Certification in Nursing Professional Development or specialty is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
1. One (1) year of experience with teaching/learning methodologies is preferred.

1. Coordinates and leads activities related to nursing professional practice of the ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program
2. Collaborates with the Magnet Program Director to lead processes necessary for the ongoing preparation of the ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program reporting and documentation requirements.
3. Coordinates program oversight, logistics, planning, implementation, and evaluation, including annual reports, redesignation reports, consultation visits, and logistics of the redesignation site visit of the ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program
4. Validates and reports the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) nurse-sensitive indicators, core measures, patient satisfaction, RN Engagement, and other metrics to demonstrate and surpass benchmarks and goals for clinical and professional development outcomes.
5. Coordinates efforts in patient safety, quality, and performance improvement and aligns with the ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program.
6. Coordinates membership, activities, meetings, and training of magnet steering committee, champions, and ambassadors
7. Provides education and consultation to internal and external constituents regarding ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program activities and outcomes
8. Coordinates memberships, meetings, agendas, and oversight of Shared Decision-making Councils, including charters, annual reports, and leading the Nursing Advisory Council.
9. Provides oversight and expertise to operationalize the Professional Practice Model, including the nursing care delivery model, peer review process, outcome progression, and professional development.
10. Develops strategies and facilitates engagement with the nursing division and the ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program
11. Serves on committees relating to the review and revision of patient care policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure the use of evidence-based practice and current nursing research, and to assure coordination with the practice standards systems.
12. Functions in a clinical leadership role to oversee policy updates based on best practices.
13. Contributes to the nursing strategic plan for the ANCC Magnet® Recognition program designation.
14. Collaborates with the Magnet Program Director, Nurse Scientist, nurse leaders, professional practice leaders, and clinical staff to facilitate creative problem-solving, plan initiatives, and provide professional practice support.
15. Coordinates the ANCC Magnet® application, designation, and re-designation process, including maintaining the Sources of Evidence organization and documentation.
16. Makes recommendations for the budget preparation for the ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program annually upon notification of the Director to ensure cost-effective operations.
17. Maintains effective communication with other departments within the organization as necessary ANCC Magnet® Recognition Program in accordance with the hospital's mission and vision.
18. Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
