Summary

Focuses upon skin care and prevention of skin breakdown in patients. Facilitates nursing management of patients with acute or chronic wounds and wound vacuum assisted closure (V.A.C) dressing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Registered Nurse, RN Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills. Verbal and written skills required. Demonstrates effective organizational and leadership skills. Knowledge of the age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of the patients typically served. Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs. Visual acuity for observation of patients. Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.

• Three to five years of clinical practice. Must be articulate and capable of teaching one-to-one and with groups. Must have demonstrated teaching ability. Good general health. Able to see patient's reactions to instruction, lecture (speak), and hear questions from colleagues and patients. Able to transport and manipulate equipment.

What We Offer: 4-day work week (10-hr shifts) with alternating weekend requirement, No nights, Self-Scheduling!!

Med Surg Experience and/or Wound Care Experience Preferred.
