Department Summary
The Discovery Oncology department is dedicated to applying top-tier science to deepen our understanding of cancer biology in order to identify and pursue targets for developing potential new medicines, aiming to provide first-in-class or best-in-class therapeutics to patients.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.
The Opportunity
Engages in literature review and experimental design to address key biological questions.
Conducts cell-based and biochemical assays using cancer cell models.
Leads the interpretation and presentation of data in both oral and poster formats.

Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

Who You Are
Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
Must have attained a Master's Degree.
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
Required Majors: Cellular, Molecular, Cancer Biology or equivalent.
Required Skills:
Advanced understanding of Cell and Molecular Biology.
Proven proficiency in mammalian cell culture.
Demonstrated passion and ability to learn new concepts and skills.
Effective multitasking in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Molecular, Biochemical, and Cellular Biology techniques.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $35-$45 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
