A Brief Overview
This position reports directly to the Respiratory Supervisor and is responsible for rendering, small volume nebulizers, oxygen therapy and bronchial hygiene. The Respiratory Technician must have an adequate understanding of the indications, contraindications, and physiologic effects of the respiratory and oxygen therapy modalities and possess understanding of basic respiratory care procedures.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Special Student Permit (RT) - KSBHA Must be Licensed with a student permit by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) and be enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Required

What you will do
  • Administer all oxygen and respiratory treatment modalities as ordered by physicians.
  • Records accurate patient charges.
  • Evaluates patients as to their respiratory status and response to respiratory procedures.
  • Is proficient in all phases of basic cardiac life support.
  • Maintains patient’s chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.

Working Conditions Comments:
