The Cardiac Electro Physiologic Registered Nurse performs a variety of duties related to evaluation and treatment of patients with multiple cardiac arrhythmias to include the ability to scrub all procedures, ability to trouble shoot EKG variants, and sudden hemodynamic changes, strong knowledge base of EP specific hemodynamic monitoring / recording and understands the cardiac mapping integration, operates complex supporting equipment for intra cardiac echo, stimulation, and ablations. Procedures would include but not limited to: Electro-Physiology studies, Tilt Table studies, Ablations, Trans-Septal Ablations, Cardiac Rhythm Management device Implants and programming, left atrial appendage procedures and other structural heart procedures performed in the OR Hybrid environment. As a cardiovascular team member, is responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of services and clinical care tasks associated with and in accordance with the standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System policy and procedures.
What you will do
- Partners with patients and families to develop, implement and evaluate plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient. Assesses and incorporates evidence-based standards of practice. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination care. Facilitates safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of plan of care.
- Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates organization of work, knowledge of process/procedure for applicable modality(s) and performs independently without close supervision.
- Demonstrates ability to assess patient clinical ands psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice as it relates to the specialty or patient population served.
- The team member supports the clinical on-boarding and procedural training to scrub, monitor, and / or circulate positions for department orientee(s). As a preceptor, is responsible to teach, coach, counsel, and evaluate progress of orientee in assigned modality(s). Observes team member performing procedural associated tasks, techniques, and essential functions; offers constructive feedback to meet competency standards. Acts as a liaison between orientee, team members, and physicians. Works closely with department coordinator, gives a formative weekly progress report.
- Demonstrates accountability for environment of care and ensures availability of necessary resources to provide positive work flow and efficient daily operations.
- Participates positively by taking ownership in training and support of all team members and students as needed.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or
- Associates Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or
- Program Graduate, Nursing (Required) and
- High School Diploma or GED, Only Required if Nursing Diploma Graduate (Required)
Experience
- 5-6 years Experience in Interventional Procedures (Required)
- 5-6 years Able to scrub, monitor and/or circulate in 3 or more modalities (Required)
- 5-6 years Independent operation of supporting EP equipment (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) License in the State of Virginia or compact State Upon Hire(Required) and
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) and
- ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 1-1/2 Yrs(Required) and
- Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Upon Hire(Required) or
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Upon Hire(Required) or
- Stroke Certified Registered Nurse - American Board of Neuroscience Nurses Upon Hire(Required) or
- Registered Nurse Board Certified (RN-BC) - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Upon Hire(Required) or
- Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire(Required) or
- Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC) - American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN Certification Corporation) Upon Hire(Required)
