About the Role
Education and Learning is a multi-campus unit overseeing the education of staff across St Vincent’s. As the Practice Development Nurse (Residential Aged Care), you will be based primarily at Berengarra, but also support the nursing teams at Auburn House and Prague House, travelling between sites as required.
As the Practice Development Nurse (RAC), you will be responsible for supporting the standard of clinical practice for all nurses in the SVHM RAC program with educational sessions, coaching and local supervision, both direct and indirect. The support provided is underpinned by the person-centred model of care and uses an evidence-based model to inform the delivery of nursing care.
You will also take responsibility for your own ongoing professional development in order to maintain advanced clinical skills and keep abreast of current knowledge and best practice in the care of older people.
Classifications for this position will range will be RN35 ($119,329 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
Current Nursing Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
Degree in General Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia.
Postgraduate qualification in Aged Care, Gerontological, Advanced Clinical Nursing or other relevant area.
Postgraduate qualification in Education, Clinical Supervision or similar (or working towards), is desirable.
Minimum 5 years aged care, acute or sub-acute registered nursing experience.
Experience in clinical teaching, clinical supervision or preceptorship of nursing staff.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
