Works to improve patient satisfaction and consistent application of nursing care. Provides supervision to staff and feedback to the Nurse Managers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelors of Science in Nursing with 2 years of Medical-surgical nursing experience OR Associates of Science in Nursing with 3 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
2. Current Licensure in the state of WV to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
3. Current BLS.
4. ACLS and dysrhythmia required within 6 months of hire to unit.

1. Works with staff and patients to improve patient satisfaction and provide consistent nursing care
2. Makes clinical rounds to establish personal contact with each patient in clinical area 100% of the time
3. Supervises staff in the absence of the Nurse Manager
4. Performs and/or reviews the initial assessment upon admission, and does continuing assessments thereafter, implementing and evaluating patient care, according to policy, using professional judgement to determine the physical, psychological and social needs of the patient and documents appropriately in EPIC 95% of the time
5. Demonstrates competency in technical and clinical skills, completes skills checklist and correctly performs these skills daily as required 100% of the time
6. Administers medications by all acceptable routes, as ordered by physician and according to policy and procedure 100% of the time
7. Communicates plan of care and patient needs effectively, in a multi-disciplinary fashion, to any and all involved persons and/or departments 100% of the time
8. Completely and accurately transcribes and carries out physician orders 100% of the time
9. Anticipates teaching needs of each patient, modifying, adapting, executing and evaluating the plan on a regular basis 90% of the time
10. Develops a discharge plan individualized to meet the needs of the patient and family 90% of the time

1. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and feeling are necessary body movements utilized in performing nursing duties throughout the work shift
2. Able to lift, move and position patients of all weights with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis
3. Able to read and write legibly in English
4. Hearing within normal range.
5. Visual acuity to perform heavy work: exerting in excess of 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to perform concentrated and complex mental activity with frequent involvement in complex and highly technical situations
2. Ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions and must be capable of adapting to varying workloads and /or work assignments on a constant basis
3. Ability to make sound, independent judgements based on scientific principles, evidence based practice and also be able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams appropriately
4. Ability to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures
5. Ability to perform mathematical calculations of drug dosages and infusion rates
6. Able to operate hospital equipment including but not limited to: IV pump, bed scales, wheelchair, restraints, stethoscope, blood glucose monitor, defibrillator, syringes, copier machines, fax machine, email, and Microsoft office products.
