Position Description:

The Temporary Research Intern in Microbiology and Immunology will be performing responsible research work that requires planning and completing limited research projects in accordance with general plans approved by the supervisor. This is a part time position up to 25 hours per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct laboratory research experiments.

• Using sterile techniques.

• Cultivation of bacteria.

• Cultivation of cell culture.

• Record keeping: Support scientific investigations by documenting results of experiments; collect, analyze, and summarize data in notebooks and in electronic files for presentations.

• Follow laboratory and institutional safety protocols and training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with E. coli and molecular biology techniques.
