Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a Full-Time Day shift RN (Registered Nurse) in our 5 West Medical Hematology Unit. 

Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified candidates successfully hired!

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid RN licensure

Position Overview:

  • Full-Time; 36 hours per week
  • DayShift; 7am - 7m
  • You take control of your schedule with self-scheduling

Hematology Unit Overview:

This is a brand new state-of-the-art 24-bed unit that cares for a wide variety of medical diagnoses from CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Stroke, end-of-life to name a few. Specializing in care for those with chronic blood disorders such as Sickle Cell.  You will also become very knowledgeable in procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, etc.

Job Summary

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
