The Operating Room (OR) Technical Coordinator (TC) is a Registered Nurse with a strong knowledge base and clinical experience able to use dynamic leadership abilities to effectively coordinate technical education for the Operating Room. The TC, in collaboration with the OR management will be responsible for coordinating OR device in-services and teaching PeriOp 101.JOB IS FROM: nursingjobs.siteVIEWRequired Qualifications:
- RN license in New Mexico
- BLS, ACLS, PALS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of full time clinical experience in the OR.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work.

- Acts as a clinical resource
- Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem resolution abilities
- Strives to achieve excellent communication and organization skills
- Facilitates involvement of staff and participates in Performance Improvement reports on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Advises sensitive, emergent, and potential problems to OR management on the same day of the event.
- Collaborates with peer leadership to resolve unit operational issues.
- Observes condition of facilities and takes corrective action to solve existing or potential problems.
- Provides performance feedback when appropriate.
- Works with OR management in coordinating orientation of new employees.
- Monitors patient/physician/employee satisfaction and provides follow-up by participating in the development of action plans with OR management.
- Delegates staff downtime to complete team and departmental projects.
- Provides direct patient care as needed.
- Maintains a professional climate within the service.
- Fosters teamwork among units and personnel involved in the delivery of intra-operative patient care.
- Models effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Interprets, monitors, and supports hospital and personnel policies to physicians, nursing staff, patients, visitors, and other health care providers.
- Assures compliance with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures and nursing standards of care.
- Maintains the standards and recommended practices for peri-operative nursing established by AORN, CDC, DNV, OSHA ad other regulatory agencies.
- Maintains current professional growth through independent study and continuing education programs.
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
- Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently.
- Must be able to lift greater than 50 pounds and push 0-300 pounds frequently.
