Job Description:
Behavioral health nurses are multifaceted. Nurses implement treatment plans and ensure patient care. They show a broad range of nursing skills, as well as practical knowledge of communication, emotional intelligence, and a healthy dose of compassion.
Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. - Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service.
- Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently.
- Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure or temporary Kentucky work permit
- Associate Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Completion and maintenance of BLS.
- Successful completion of all competencies as identified on the departmental nurse competency grid.
