The greater Wausau area offers recreational options in all four seasons. During the warmer months, biking, camping and fishing are among many people’s favorites. When the snow falls, people flock to one of the state’s premier downhill skiing destinations: Granite Peak Ski Area located in Rib Mountain State Park. The area has public school districts that are consistently recognized as instructional leaders in Wisconsin. Fun Fact: Wausau ranks among the top five safest small-sized cities in the nation.
