Van Andel Institute’s Materials Management department is currently seeking a Supply Chain Intern for a 12-15 week internship opportunity.
This internship will offer an opportunity to learn about:
- Procurement Operations: Sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing research supplies and services
- Logistics Operations:Receiving: Inspecting, reconciling, and distributing incoming research supplies Shipping: Assessing requirements, shipping Dangerous Goods, and shipping internationally (import, export, trade compliance)
- Inventory Operations: Managing stock, order fulfillment, and delivery. Utilizing specialized applications to track and manage business transactions (i.e., Workday and others). Collaborating across departments to effectively contribute toward an institutional mission. Balancing daily tasks with long-term projects
We would expect you to:
- Be enrolled full-time in a Supply Chain or business program at an accredited college or university; with the goal of working in a business-related field
- Have previous experience working in office maintenance or office services environment
- Be detail oriented
- Be committed to providing excellent customer service
- Be excellent with oral and written communication
- Be proficient with computer office applications (i.e. Microsoft Office)
