Summary

Assumes clinical supervision for maintaining the perioperative standards of patient care for a defined patient population. Represents OR management and acts as liaison between nursing, the OR staff and surgeons on the team and other hospital departments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Requires progressive experience of at least 1 year in operating room nursing. Experience in circulating duties. Knowledge base of case setup and ability to assist surgical technologist with set up and equipment. Must have the ability to organize systems and people. Able to read, write, and speak English.
• The job requires having a working knowledge of OR routines, a wide variety of equipment, medication, and procedures specific to surgical areas of responsibility.
• Certified or seeking AORN certification is a plus.
• Completion of a basic management program is desirable. Work requires long periods of standing and walking and occasional assistance with heavy lifting. Long periods of sitting.
• Registered Nurse, RN Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills. Verbal and written skills required. Demonstrates effective organizational and leadership skills. Knowledge of the age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of the patients typically served. Speech and auditory acuity for communication of patient needs. Visual acuity for observation of patients. Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material.

Must Have: At least 1 year of Operating Room experience to apply. Training is available for all other aspects of the role.

Leadership and Organizational experience is a PLUS!!!

Shift Requirements: 6:30 am-3 pm M-F. Will be required to alternate working weekends with other Operating Room Team Coordinators. Being on-call is required for this role.
