Manulife’s Global Data Technology (GDT) is seeking a co-op/intern to join our Global Data Strategy team. The role will (1) support strategic &/or global data initiatives that strengthens Manulife’s global data and advanced analytic capabilities, (2) involve in cross-segment collaboration and communication helping build an agile data insight driven culture, (3) deliver reports establishing successful technical and analytic innovation, (4) help to develop, maintain, and test BI reports to meet the organization needs. The role will be reporting to the Director of Planning & Business Management and will be working in partnership with the Manager of Global Data Strategy. Position Responsibilities:
Supporting the execution of the Global Data strategy through providing transparency into the development of strategic objectives, metrics, and risks.
Work with cross functional teams to operationalize & maintain comprehensive set of strategic & operations KPIs and metrics used to measure the success of our transformation.
Develop and maintain dashboards on an as required basis.
Coordinate between different functional teams to ensure the timeliness for metric and reporting delivery by working with various stakeholders.
Maintain and execute regular internal social media postings and team announcements on behalf of Global Data.
Plan and lead Global Data engagement activities.
Responsible for coordinating all day-to-day program activities for a team of individual contributors spanning cross-site locations.
Provide support with project coordination and action items tracking for planning and execution.
Prepare reports, presentation materials, and analysis.
May require working with global teams at local time zones (e.g., Asia stakeholder meetings).
Other ad-hoc requests as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field.
1-2+ years of experience in technology, project coordination with exposure to data.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A team first attitude.
A proven interest in technology and innovation.
Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
Comfortable with interacting with executive leadership (AVP+) and presenting to various groups.
Quick learner with creative problem-solving skills.
Strong project management skills.
High level of proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Excel (required), SharePoint and PowerBI (considered an asset).
An interest in assisting with administrative and reporting tasks is an asset.
