Job Description
In the Quality Control (QC) department, the primary responsibilities of the QC Laboratory Excellence internship will be to implement lean operational excellence tools within the department.
How You Will Contribute:
- The key deliverables will be to standardize the laboratory area using 5S principles and lab layout improvements. The goal of which is to improve the organization within the QC laboratories.
Internship Development Opportunities:
- The intern will learn the role a QC department plays in pharmaceutical manufacturing. They will have an opportunity to understand the what the day to day work in both Microbiology and Analytical QC laboratories is.
- They will partner with QC staff to understand their daily testing and workflow and will help standardize the laboratory organization using lean tools. This will afford the intern an opportunity to understand what value added work and non-value added work within a QC organization look like.
Job Requirements:
- This is an in-person position (5 days per week) located in Thousand Oaks, CA
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program
- General understanding and knowledge of the following areas:
- Microbiology (Biology) and Chemistry
- Basic knowledge of how a laboratory operates
- Laboratory safety
- Able to communicate effectively with peers, co-workers and leadership team.
- Very detailed oriented and able to produce high quality work
- Good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
- Basic decision-making skills
Internship Eligibility
- JOB IS FROM: nursingjobs.siteVIEWMust be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later
- The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22nd
- The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
- Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
- Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
