Job Description: 

The PDT Device Development Intern will provide engineering support within the device development process for large volume infusion systems. Their role will consist of the following responsibilities: 

  • Conduct feasibility testing for design improvements.  

  • Support development of new test methods and design of experiments.  

  • Complete acquisition and analysis of test data using various software packages i.e. LabVIEW, Excel, Minitab. 

  • Execute laboratory-based testing.  

  • Generate testing documentation including test methods, reports, and data analysis.  
     

Internship Development Opportunities: 

  •  Learn how to develop device design.  

  • Conduct device system characterization through testing. 

  • Demonstrate device design feasibility.  

  •  Hands on lab experience.  

  • Learn general knowledge about infusion systems. 

  • Network across various teams and business units 

  • Exposure to the working environment of a major pharmaceutical company. 

  • Become familiar with the overall process of developing a medical device. 

 Job Requirements: 

  • This position will be Hybrid and require 2-3 days in Lexington, MA office per week. 

  • Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel)  

  • Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering 

  • Highly reliable and a strong team player 

  • Flexible with an attention to detail 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

  • Must be Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline. 

Internship Eligibility 

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2025 or later 

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (June 2nd- August 29th) or (June 16th - August 22n 

  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames  

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates  

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.  The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include: 

  •  Paid sick time
