The School of Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a nurse educator for a faculty role in the baccalaureate nursing program on the Salina, Kansas campus. This full-time (9-month appointment), non-tenure earning faculty position reports to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs & Department Chair.Job Description:
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate nursing students in a variety of courses and settings (didactic courses, online courses, clinical settings, simulation, and clinical laboratory settings) in the undergraduate nursing program.
Participate in ongoing course and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation activities.
Participate in service-related activities (serving on committees/task forces, mentoring students, assigning clinical placements, etc.) to support the mission of the school.

Develop and implements special projects as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Graduate nursing degree (Master’s or Doctorate).
Certification/License:
Possess a registered nurse (RN) license from the Kansas State Board of Nursing (or be eligible for a RN license in Kansas).
Work Experience:
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally (verbal and written).
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience:
Teaching experience in a nursing program
Experience teaching in a simulation laboratory setting.
Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating courses; and the overall baccalaureate curriculum.
Experience serving as or working with clinical preceptors.
Healthcare experience working in rural areas.
