Provides a strategic framework, expert consultation and oversight of Advanced Practice Nursing scope of practice, role development, professional development and mentoring for Advanced Practice Nurses (APN’s). Directs the Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) as partners in the unit dyad leadership and population specific roles. Leads the CNS team to allow them to work across all three spheres of impact to improve healthcare for all stakeholders- Patient Care, Nursing Leadership and Healthcare System Efficiency. Minimum Job Requirements
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification
- A license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.
- BLS certification required.
Education
- Master’s degree in nursing with academic and professional expertise in pediatric nursing.
Experience
- Eight or more years of advanced practice nursing experience including management level experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Member of professional organization appropriate for specialty area.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary health care team to enhance collaboration and problem‑solving.
- High degree of resourcefulness and independent motivation.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well with colleagues and community agencies.
