We currently have an exciting opportunity for 8 Union Internship positions. The successful candidate will work on a short assignment in any of our departments that are represented by UWUA – Local G-555. This includes but is not limited to the Gas Operations departments, Field Metering Service, Construction & Maintenance, Corrosion/Leak Detection, Design/Construction and Gas Measurement and Regulation.
What You Will Do:
The successful candidate will observe and assist with basic tasks; assignments may include lifting, bending and physical work including but not limited to hand digging, wrenching, etc. under the guidance of our Field Technicians to gain exposure to the overall gas field and pipeline operations.
Our Akron Springside intern will work under the guidance of our Engineering Technicians to gain exposure to our pipeline design projects. They will work in AutoCAD and other systems to understand projects from inception to completion.
Location: Akron, Cleveland, Canton, Youngstown, and Akron-Springside.
This is a UNION internship. Applicants will be exposed to union job tasks and processes.
There is no relocation or housing assistance provided for this opportunity.

Who You Are:
Must be 17 years of age or older.
Minimum GPA of 2.5
Must have a valid driver’s license and may be required to use a company and/or personal vehicle for Company business.
Must have a high school diploma or GED by spring 2024 and be enrolled in a vocational or technical training program or related discipline with intent to obtain diploma/certification; or enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year degree program at the time of application.
Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
Good computer, math and communication skills (written and verbal)
Must have acceptable work (if applicable) and attendance record.
AutoCAD experience for the Springside position only.
Preferences:
Previous Military experience.
Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
Trades and/or Craft Work Experience (e.g., mechanical, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, residential/commercial construction, pipefitting)
Good customer service skills
Positive verbal and written communications skills
This is a DOT safety sensitive position that is subject to pre-employment and ongoing drug screening.
Education Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or GED by Spring 2025 and be enrolled in a vocational or technical training program or related discipline with intent to obtain diploma/certification; or enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year degree program at the time of application.
Must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
Licenses, Certifications, or Qualification Description
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
