As a Central Scheduling Lead Nurse, you will take a leadership role in providing primary support, direction and training to the Central Scheduling RN's. Performs all responsibilities of the Central Scheduling RN role, but also acts as a mentor and role model to Central Scheduling RN team and leads work efforts around performance improvement initiatives related to scheduling. Responsible for identifying and developing opportunities for improvement. Leads efforts to facilitate and triage appointment scheduling from patient, families or referring providers using protocols. Schedules and coordinate appointments for families for clinic visits, ancillary services and diagnostic testing. Process outpatient registrations, obtaining all necessary registration information, and supports the insurance referral with prior authorization process. Interact effectively with multiple departments regarding scheduling and triaging of appointment calls.

Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)
Two years pediatric nursing experience required.
Prefer experience in an OR setting to understand procedural cases.
A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin.
Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Leadership skills necessary to operate in a team environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Epic experience preferred.
Interpersonal skills necessary to gather and share information with physicians, patients, families, and team members in a courteous and confidential manner.
Ability to data entry 5500 KSPH preferred.
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills necessary to work in a fast paced department with multiple tasks done simultaneously.
Ability to make decisions based on established protocols.
Ability to problem solve and recommend change.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail during stressful events, emergencies, and complex calls.
This position will be on site at the Milwaukee Hospital
Hours: Monday through Friday - hours between 7:30am-5pm
