Why This Role Matters

This role will provide day-to-day support to the Chairman, Middle East & Africa in organsising the Summer Exhibition of Middle Eastern Art at Christie’s headquarters on King St in London. The role will involve liaising with key partners and clients to facilitate the exhibition. Fluency in English, Arabic and German is required.

 

How You'll Make an Impact

(Duties include but are not limited to the following)

Administrative Support

  • Support the Deputy Chairman MENA daily schedule  by proactive diary management

  • Assisting with travel arrangements and expense submission

  • Ensuring that messages for Deputy Chairman are passed on

  • Support by greeting clients, take to meeting room and assist with required refreshments

  • Managing Catalogue inventory by insuring the Deputy Chairman receives available catalogues

  • Liaising with IT to resolve any issues with office equipment

  • Maintaining stationery supplies in the Department

  • Responsible for collecting and distributing post daily

  • Arranging couriers, maintaining printers

  • Ad – hoc shipping requests and coordination

  • Building Power Point presentations as required

 

Research

  • Prospective client research

  • Assist with ad-hoc client buying research and requirements

  • Art Market & Art History research

  • Assist the Deputy Chairman MENA and the Contemporary Middle Eastern Art Department in building, preparing and cataloguing their sales.

 

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Educated to degree level

  • Ability to prioritise and work under tight deadlines

  • Team player, motivated

  • Strong IT skills with familiarity of all Microsoft packages

  • Previous work experience – either paid or voluntary

  • Interest and knowledge of the Arab world preferred

  • Language skills: fluent in English, German and Arabic
