2025 Summer  Intern - Peptide Therapeutics

Department Summary

The candidate will work in the department of Peptide Therapeutics. We are a small department using the most advanced peptide discovery technologies to build the next generation of peptide drugs. 

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.

The Opportunity

• Work in the lab and maintain proper lab practices.

• Design and run mRNA display experiments.

• Run and analyze next generation sequencing experiments.

• Effectively communicate experimental results.

Program Highlights

• Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

• Program start dates are in May/June

• A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

• Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

• Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are

Required Education

You meet one of the following criteria:

-Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree (enrolled student) OR

- Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)

Required Majors

Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines.

Required Skills

• Basic skills in biochemistry

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

• Candidates who are part of the GEM program are highly preferred.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

• Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.

• Proficient in peptide display techniques (mRNA Display, Phage Display, & etc)

• Previous experience with Tecan pipetting robots.

• Proficient in NGS experiments and analysis

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of  California is $25.00-$45.00 hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
