As of October 15, 2024 Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

Shoppers Drug Mart is currently seeking an Intern to fill a placement on the Community Investment team.  This position will support the day-to-day activities of Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health, including, but not limited to fundraising, grant programs, charitable partnerships and general administration.

Position Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to the community investment team, including:

  • Support day-to-day administration of the Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women, including cheque requests, fundraising reports, and pre and post-event communication requirements 
  • Support the planning, preparation and administration of the annual Giving Shelter fall fundraising campaign
  • Assist with donations and grant making including tracking incoming requests, distributing grant agreements letters, and administering declines as needed
  • Support data entry and general maintenance of Shoppers Foundation databases (grant recipients, donations and tax receipts)
  • Assist Shoppers Foundation to maintain and manage accurate files and records
  • Support research requests related to community investment best practices, fundraising trends, women’s health statistics etc.
  • Assist with general correspondence to Shoppers Foundation charity partners, donors etc.

  • Assist with event coordination as required including internal office events and meetings  
  • Assist with monitoring and responding to inquiries to Shoppers Foundation general mailbox
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired skills, experience and knowledge  

  • Experience working with MS Office Products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, with a proven ability to manage projects and multi-task
  • Strong work ethic and sense of curiosity and responsibility
  • Experience with event and/or meeting coordination
  • Interest in learning more about corporate community investment, fundraising, grant making and event management
