Job Title: Access RN Mental Behavioral Health

Work Schedule: M-F, 1st shift. This is a hybrid position. The first 90 days are 100% on site at Summit. After the 1st 90 days, it is 2 days remote and 3 days on site.

What you will do:
Under the direction of the manager, this position is responsible for organizing and coordinating all aspects of intake of new patients into Mental and Behavioral Health clinical programs. Will complete assessment phone calls with patients and make a clinical decision about the most appropriate placement and type of appointment. Ensures appointments are scheduled correctly in Epic, provides appointment confirmations and required paperwork for families. Works closely with clinical and support staff to ensure a smooth and timely process of information gathering, decision-making and scheduling of new patients.

What you will need:

Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Wisconsin

Current CPR Certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Education

Associates degree in Nursing

Bachelors preferred

Experience

1 year of pediatric nursing experience

1 year experience with patients having co-occurring behavioral health presentations, or in psychiatric or behavioral health

Experience working with diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds preferred

Epic experience preferred

Call center experience preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.

Understands the pediatric developmental stages and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury, and hospitalization.

Analytical skills are necessary to assess complex patient conditions effectively and to develop comprehensive plans of care.

Mental and sensory abilities to read, process and interpret clinical data.

Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills to serve a variety of people and to handle interactions in an efficient, accurate, professional, and pleasant manner.

Prior experience working in a Windows environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
