About the Opportunity:
At St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane, we specialise in healthcare for people with chronic, complex and multiple health needs. Our sub-acute medical facility provides rehabilitation, palliative care, acute medicine, pain management and home palliative care, with one operating theatre specialising in pain medicine. We have over 450 experienced and qualified medical, nursing, allied health and support staff working to deliver excellence in patient care across our facilities at Kangaroo Point.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Theatre team, delivering exceptional patient care and operational excellence. This is a permanent part time (0.60FTE) position, with the opportunity to increase as the unit grows. This vital role will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of human, financial and material resources within the perioperative complex, providing high levels of coordination to ensure optimal theatre utilisation. You will create a culture of clinical excellence and exceptional customer service, whilst ensuring all care is delivered within the regulatory frameworks. This position will be integral in supporting the growth and continuous improvement of the perioperative service.

Things that work for us:
Registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency) as a Registered Nurse
Previous experience in a Nurse Unit Manager role or senior role in a Perioperative or Theatre setting is essential
Ability to manage and coordinate the operational and strategic services of a theatre unit, including managing skill mix, WHPPD, education and development of staff, recruitment and performance management
A solid understanding of regulatory requirements and standards to ensure all practices are consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Service and relevant professional practice and ethical standards and guidelines
Ability to provide clinical leadership to ensure patients and family care is managed and coordinated effectively across the continuum of care.
