Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with disabilities in residential homes and/or vocational centers. Responsible for all nursing functions at a single business location. Relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment with limited direction and supervision to accomplish responsibilities. Requires a degree from an accredited nursing school and an unencumbered Registered Nursing License. Experience with the population preferred.Pay: $75,000

The position provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with disabilities in residential homes and/or vocational centers. Responsible for all nursing functions at a single business location. Relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment with limited direction and supervision to accomplish responsibilities.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing standards.
- Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examination of people supported.
- Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from the norm. Assesses condition of people supported monthly and/or per physician order.
- Monitors medication administration and reports medication errors.
- Initiates a people supported education plan according to individualized needs as developed by the interdisciplinary team and/or company policy including parent and/or family/guardian instruction.
- Communicates with family and guardians about people supported health status, medical intervention procedures, side effects and other information relative to each person’s well-being.
- Conducts nursing and quality assurance assessments to monitor health, treatment and sanitary conditions of residential homes.
- Coordinates and supervises work of LPNs, oversight for medication administration technicians and other non-nursing personnel who may render medical care and assistance to people supported.

Education/Experience:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Prefer one year of nursing experience and preferably prior DD experience
Pre-employment screening:

- Drug testing
- Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
- Proof of employment history or references (if required)
- Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
