About the Role
This key role in the Primary Mental Health team will provide primary mental health nursing services to the patient population at Port Phillip Prison. You will be responsible for patient treatment, management, assessment and ongoing reviews. As well as, crisis assessment, development of risk management plans and engaging the patient in the development of their mental health recovery plans including referrals to other service needs, discharge planning and liaison with external stake holders
Classifications for this position will be RPN Grade 3 NP81 – NP74 ($99,439.60 - $110,432.40 per annum, pro-rata).

You are a motivated, engaging, and compassionate person who is looking to make a difference in the lives of those who are vulnerable. You will bring demonstrated psychiatric nursing experience to the role and hold a post graduate qualification in Mental Health. You are a team player with exceptional communication skills which will allow you to direct and encourage a multidisciplinary team.
You will also have:
Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Nursing that meets the requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Willingness to obtain G4S security clearance
Current driver’s license

About St Vincent's Correctional Health Service (SVCHS)
SVCHS at Port Phillip Prison (PPP) provides primary health, mental health and secondary medical health care to prisoners at Port Phillip Prison, Laverton. Port Phillip Prison is a maximum security male prison accommodating approximately 1107 inmates and is situated 20 km West of Melbourne. St. John’s inpatient unit is a 40 bed subacute medical ward providing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. On site services include, hemodialysis, palliative care, complex wound management, day oncology treatments, post-surgical/early discharge care, infectious disease management and rehabilitation programs.
