Join Our Growing Team: Seeking Registered Nurses for our PACU Expansion!
We are excited to announce the expansion of our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)/Pre-Operative Unit at Boston Medical Center and are seeking experience Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team! As we add 5 additional OR’s and 10 additional PACU bays, we have multiple openings available to help plan for this growth. We are looking for experienced and compassionate nurses who are dedicated to providing exceptional care in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Position: Registered Nurse
Location: Menino PACU (Outpatient/Inpatient Surgery)
Schedule: 24 hours, Day/Evening, Every 3rd Weekend
ABOUT THE MENINO PACU (OUTPATIENT/INPATIENT SURGERY) DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER:
The Menino Post Anesthesia Care Unit/Pre-Operative Unit on the new integrated procedural platform consists of 52 bays. All 52 bays provide advanced Intensive Care monitoring as well as Pre-Operative care. Pre-Op and PACU functions as a holding area for our procedural patients requiring specialized cardiac and interventional care. The department also functions as a high acuity recovery area stabilizing many directly from the OR/Procedural areas after surgery.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence.
- A team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a high-volume setting
- Critical Care (ED/ICU/PACU) experience required
- Current and/or previous PACU experienced strongly preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- 1+ years of RN experience preferred
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
