Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Application Engineers, customers, and sales teams to define needs or opportunities in the form of Functional Requirements, Constraints, and Evaluation Criteria in Testing Area.
  • Adhere to Freudenberg’s Technology Innovation Process and advanced design methods such as Design for Six Sigma, Robust Design, and DFX to develop innovative design concepts. Brainstorming sessions and teamwork are integral in this process.
  • Evaluate concepts and select best options to develop into detailed testing design.
  • Utilize CAD, CAE, simulations, computational mathematics, AI, and data processing in collaboration with company resources.

  • Utilize computational mathematics and AI programming skills to enhance the processes.
  • Build sub-systems and partial prototypes as needed to evaluate performance. Construct full prototypes when warranted. Work with the product testing lab to design protocols and procedures for performance evaluation tests.
  • Regularly review test results with the testing team, customers, and other stakeholders to refine the process continually.
  • As the design evolves, collaborate with cross-functional downstream teams to ensure manufacturability and scale-up.
  • Manage projects and deliver results on time.
  • Follow Freudenberg’s HSE protocols at all times.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, presentations and project updates to various levels in the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with FEA and CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
  • Knowledge of materials testing and characterization techniques.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, 3D printing).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience in experimental design and data analysis.
  • Ability to develop and test prototypes.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
