CNN Underscored Social Media Intern: NYC - Summer 2025 (warnerbros)

Your New Role 

This internship will be located in the NYC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule. The Summer 2025 Social Media Intern will support the Underscored social team to expand the reach on social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest. Reporting to Underscored’s Senior Digital Content Strategist, the candidate will be responsible for creating and posting content daily, as well as ideating and editing video content and series across platforms. Each month, the candidate will also collect data that will be used to measure social performance and audience engagement.
 
Your Role Accountabilities 

• Support the Senior Digital Content Strategist and Social Lead in developing and implementing strategies to grow CNN Underscored’s following

• Reporting to the Senior Digital Content Strategist, you will post daily content to Instagram Stories using shoppable links and engaging social copy

• Film, edit, and voiceover TikTok and Instagram videos

• Regularly track and measure follower growth, engagement rate, video views, and other relevant data when needed

• Ideate and pitch new video one-off concepts and series ideas monthly

Qualifications & Experience 

• 1-2+ years of experience in social media and a proven record of contributing to the growth of a national brand or publishers social media account (experience with Instagram and TikTok is a huge plus)

• Strong video and editing skills (ideal if the candidate has experience in Premiere Pro)

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Flawless social copy

• Strong knowledge of video editing (must be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, The Microsoft Suite, Canva and in-app editing tools)

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required) 

• Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older) 

• Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.

What to know before applying: 

• The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.   

• Program date options: 

Option 1: June 2nd – August 15th  

Option 2: June 9th – August 22nd   

• Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.  

• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  

• Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
